Online Support : How to set up Message Highlighting View video View video

This tutorial will show you how to set up message highlighting on your Webmail account.

Message highlighting is a way of making certain emails, or emails from particular senders stand out more. It means that when you look at your inbox or folders, those emails will be highlighted in any colour you choose - making them more visible for you.

In Webmail, go to OPTIONS > MESSAGE HIGHLIGHTING. Click on the little plus icon next to ADD RULE.

Choose a name for your rule to describe it, such as: Emails from Work, Family, etc.

Now you just need to choose the conditions for your rule, selecting the field in which you wish to match again. For example, if you choose FROM, it will look for matches in the email address.

In the box labelled MATCHES, you can put in the whole subject or email address, or just part of it, such as the company name. (E.g., nhs, gov.uk, etc.)

Now you can choose the colour you want the messages to be highlighted in, by typing it in the box, clicking on one of the colours shown, or selecting the one you want from the drop down box.

In the box next to COLOR, you need to write in a colour's hex code, rather than the name. If you don't know what hex code is, just ignore it and use the other options.

Once you are happy, just click SAVE CHANGES.

You can add more than one rule if you wish, and have emails from different people or companies in a different colour.

To delete a rule, under MESSAGE HIGHLIGHTING where you can see a list of your rules, just click on the red cross next to the one you wish to delete.

Attachment issues and delayed emails
[09.41] Yesterday evening one of our web servers partially failed and queued email instead of sending it out. The issue was repaired this morning. It is now clearing the queue and should be finished within the hour.

There were also some users experiencing problems with adding attachments. This was a related issue that has also been resolved.

Website Slowdown [Resolved]
10:30: Dear Members - we are currently experiencing abnormally high loads on one of our servers. Service is operational but is performing very slowly. Please bear with us whilst we locate the source of the problem and restore service to normal working speeds.

10:50: We are aware that some logins are timing out. However we are close to resolving the problem in full. Next update within 15 minutes.

10:58: The majority of members will now be able to access the service. We pinpointed the problem on one of the storage service which will be remounted shortly. Update in 10.

11:15: The final server is still taking a while to come up. We are continuing to work on the problem. Will give another update in about 15 minutes.

11:40: Final server online and working. System will stabilise shortly. If you logged in and found your folders were all empty please login again now as this was simply due to the storage server coming back online and not able to show you your email at that moment in time.
